Placenticeras Intercalare  Fossil .

This is a rare piece of Placenticeras intercalare.

This high grade Intercalare fossil has vibrant greens, reds, yellows, blues and purple. 

The fossil has many horns radiating from the center to the outside that indicate is is a Intercalare.  Intercalare of this size are very rare.  The fossil is full bodied and uncompressed.

The fossil has high grade gem on both sides with bite marks most likely from a mosasaurus that indicate how the ammonites life ended 70 million years ago.  The fossil tells a 70 million year old story.  The bite marks are perfectly lined up in a rare pattern.

Side A has a rainbow of colors from rare purples, blue, green, red, yellow and orange.  Striations in the shell are visible and create wave like effects as the colors shift from blue to green, red to green and purples.

Side B has bright red, green, yellow and hints of blue.  The striations on the shell of the make it radiate and the gem changes color as you move it from red to green and yellow with blue highlights.  Suture patterns are also visible and create a flame like effect as the colors change.  The bite marks of the plesiosaur are clearly visible.

This fossil is perfectly preserved from millions of years ago.  It will be a real treasure in any collection.
